Gloucester rowers place fourth in Philadelphia regatta

The Gloucester Rowing Association’s novice quad of Isaac Hankins, Mitchell Moore, Billy Carpenter and Zane Musick-Williams placed fourth overall in its 1,000-meter race during the Philadelphia Youth Regatta on July 25. 

The novice quad members had a time of 3:53.4, three seconds behind the third-place quad from Conshohocken, Pa. The Gloucester novices have been rowing since mid-June. 

Also, the GRA’s U16 junior four of Aaron Shank, Hunter Emanus, James Raja and Titus Fox, with coxswain Jayden Jones, placed ninth out of 13 entries. The girls’ U16 junior four of Ashleigh Dough, Kaley Price-Kalekini, Bailey Wagner, Emily Grayser and coxswain Jasmyn Shank was 12th overall among 16 entries. 

Dough also raced in the 500-meter single and placed fifth in her flight. The young rowers were coached by Lynsey Marshall, Hannah Cagle and Meagan Martin. ...
