Gloucester restaurateur becomes American citizen

Rosines Marimes Argueta Benitez, owner of Las Tunas Restaurant in Gloucester, became an American citizen earlier this month.

She studied for the citizenship test with assistance of Adult Literacy on the Middle Peninsula, program manager Rhoda-Jo Stress said. In addition, she received “monitoring” from the oldest two of her three children, Stress said.

She took the Oath of Allegiance at a naturalization ceremony on Feb. 1 in the federal courthouse in Norfolk.
