Gloucester residents to receive land questionnaire in mail

All owners off improved residential and agricultural property in Gloucester should be receiving a letter and questionnaire about their properties by mail. Property owners are encouraged to supply the requested information and return to the county by Dec. 1.

Gloucester County Assessor Derek Green said the questionnaires were mailed this week in an effort to verify the accuracy of all real property in the county.

"Virginia law requires the county assessor check the accuracy of all real property information," Green said. "With new advances in technology, I would like to increase efforts to ensure that everything is being done to make sure property information is accurate."

To help accomplish this task, the county assessment office will be viewing every property in the county in order to accurately inventory all properties.
