Inspired by its successful GloLights Holiday Driving Tour, Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism is seeking submissions to create a Spooktacular Driving Tour inspired by Halloween and the fall season.

Decorated private homes and businesses are invited to submit their location to a public map. This offers families and visitors something free and flexible to do throughout the fall. Those taking the tour are asked to be respectful of the properties they are viewing and to stay in their vehicles.

To participate in the tour, submit your address and a photo of your display to PR&T. Submissions close on Oct. 13.

A panel of judges will select winners from five categories, which include Gore Galore, Film Frights, Mini-Monsters, Fall-ing in Love with Gloucester and Skeleton Crew. Winners will receive a custom yard sign to display throughout the season and a special feature on the PR&T Facebook page. The winners will be announced on Oct. 17.

“I love opportunities to showcase how festive Gloucester is through our driving maps,” said Gloucester Tourism, Marketing and Events Manager Hunter LeClair. “They are the perfect low-key way to bond as a family or cap off a date night. There is no cost or planning involved, just a spur-of-the-moment memory waiting to be made. But it is only possible if we have neighbors and businesses participate.”
