Gloucester PRT offers intro to pickleball class

Pickleball has generated a lot of interest in recent years, and now Gloucester Parks, Recreation and Tourism is offering a class to help people learn the basics of this popular sport.

Beginner Instructional Pickleball will be held on Wednesdays, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., from May 19 to June 9 at the Gloucester High School tennis courts. Billy Moore will instruct the class. The fee is $35 and the deadline to register is May 12.

REPTILE SHOW: Gloucester PRT is sponsoring reptile educational shows this Saturday at Beaverdam Park. There will be three sessions (11 a.m.-noon, 12:15-1:15 p.m. and 1:30-2:30 p.m.). Each session will be the same; representatives of the Virginia Herpetological Society will share information on several different reptiles which will be on-site for participants to see. The registration fee is $5 per person and the deadline to register is Friday.
