A Gloucester Point woman died Monday following a single-vehicle accident in Williamsburg. Barbara Faye Lambert, 54, of Tyndall Drive sustained life-threatening injuries in the crash and died shortly after at Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News, according to state police spokesman Sgt. Michelle Anaya. 

Lambert was driving a 1999 Subaru Outback westbound on Penniman Road just after 1 p.m. when the vehicle went off the roadway and struck a tree, Anaya said. There were no other occupants in the vehicle. Anaya said Lambert was not wearing her safety belt.
