Gloucester Point property to be turned into specialty market

Juan Carrillo has big plans for his newly acquired property at Gloucester Point. Already the owner of Juan’s Mexican Café & Cantina, Carrillo plans on turning the former auction house into a marketplace.

The location would serve a dual purpose, supplying Carrillo’s restaurants, as well as selling to the community. The building, which was also once the location for Poland’s Supermarket, will return in a way to its original use.

Carrillo’s plans for the site include a market featuring fresh produce, a butchery, bakery, local seafood, craft beer, wine, a food court, as well as take-away food. In addition, Juan’s specialty products like their salsa, tamales, and the popular white sauce would all be available for purchase.
