Gloucester Point candidate to be selected at tonight’s GOP meeting

The Gloucester County Republican Party will hold a mass meeting at 7 o’clock tonight at Achilles Elementary School to nominate candidates who will be running in the Nov. 3 general election.

Registration for the meeting will start at 5:30 p.m. and doors will close promptly at 7 for the meeting to begin.

During the meeting, all registered voters in the Gloucester Point district will have the opportunity to choose between former board of supervisor member Teresa Altemus and incumbent Chris Hutson for the Republican nomination for the Gloucester Point district seat on the county board.

Others seeking the Republican nomination are unchallenged. They are Ashley Chriscoe, at-large member on the county board; Holly Smith, Commonwealth’s Attorney; Darrell Warren, Sheriff; Kevin Wilson, Commissioner of the Revenue, and Tara Thomas, Treasurer.
