Gloucester physician named president of state medical society

Gloucester physician Hugh M. Bryan III will be installed as president of the Medical Society of Virginia during the organization’s annual meeting on Saturday, Oct. 29, at The Homestead Resort in Hot Springs.

Bryan is a practicing physician at York River Orthopaedics and Sports Medicine in Gloucester, part of Riverside Medical Group. An active MSV member since 1991, Bryan has also served as the speaker of the MSV House of Delegates, as a member of the MSV board of directors and as president of the Mid-Tidewater Medical Society.

"I have been actively involved with MSV for many years, but I begin my term as president at a particularly exciting time," Bryan said. "With health care continuing to draw significant attention on a statewide and national level, MSV will continue to be a tireless advocate for physicians and patients as we work toward making Virginia the best place to practice medicine and receive health care."
