Gloucester native to head architects’ organization

American Institute of Architects Virginia has named R. Corey Clayborne, AIA, as its new executive vice president and chief executive officer.

Clayborne, a Gloucester County native, will begin his new job June 1. He will work in conjunction with Helene Combs, departing AIA Virginia executive vice president/CEO, whose last day in the position is June 30.

He currently is project manager and senior architect with Wilson/Wilson. He is a graduate of Gloucester High School and earned an architecture degree at Virginia Tech. He lives in Charlottesville.

AIA Virginia is a society of the American Institute of Architects and represents nearly 2,500 architects throughout Virginia. AIA is the voice of the architecture profession in Virginia, a release said. ...
