Gloucester native returns to open Gate of Life Acupuncture

After traveling and residing in various countries across the globe, Gloucester native Brianna Teschner has returned to her roots and recently opened Gate of Life Acupuncture on Main Street.

Aside from acupuncture, the business, located in a portion of the building that formerly housed several restaurants, offers facial rejuvenation, Tui Na, Cupping and other forms of traditional Chinese medicine.

Teschner said she has always been interested in Chinese philosophy and health, which led her to the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California, after graduating from Gloucester High School in 2001. There, she said she began a five-year program studying Chinese Herbal Medicine, Acupuncture, Western Medicine, and Traditional Chinese Medicine Theory and Practice.

From there, she moved to China to begin even more in-depth studies in Chinese medicine. After that, she joined Holland America Line as one of the company’s acupuncturists aboard their ships, before moving back...
