Gloucester native faces his fears on ‘Fear Factor’

One of Gloucester’s native sons recently faced his fears on an episode of the rebooted MTV series “Fear Factor.” Aaron Osterrieder, formerly of Gloucester, now hails from California and appeared in an episode that premiered Tuesday.

In the episode, Aaron and his teammate and girlfriend Madison Christiansen won the first challenge (bobbing for snakes), then lost in the second challenge playing “Fear Pong” (described as a “more disgusting version” of beer pong), so they did not advance to the third challenge (driving blindfolded).

“I had no idea it was even coming back on TV,” Aaron said of the Fear Factor program, crediting the encouragement of a friend to his auditioning for the show. “We were in school …we had nothing to lose,” he said, before describing how he and his friend submitted their audition tape.
