The Gloucester County School Board announced the hiring of Dr. Walter R. Clemons as the county's new superintendent of schools. The announcement was made during a special meeting Wednesday evening in the Thomas Calhoun Walker Education Center. 

Clemons is currently superintendent of Northampton County Public Schools on Virginia 's Eastern Shore. He has over 24 years' experience in public education and served as an assistant superintendent, principal, assistant principal and teacher before he became superintendent. 

He will replace Ben Kiser who is retiring July 1.  ...
