Gloucester NAACP to meet Monday on Zoom

The Gloucester Branch of the NAACP will hold a Zoom meeting at 7 p.m. Monday. The featured speaker will be Andrew L. Goddard, Legislative Director of the Center for Public Safety. He also served on the Board of Virginia Behavioral Health and Developmental Services and was the first board chair of the National Gun Victims Action Council.

His interest in mental health issues, as well as gun violence prevention, came about as a result of his son’s injuries sustained in the Virginia Tech tragedy of April 2007.

Goddard will explain the realities of gun violence in Virginia and the intersection of Virginia politics with the effort to reduce gun violence, as well as legislature needed to address the issues.

All are welcome to attend the NAACP meetings. Contact the Gloucester NAACP at gloucesternaacp@gmail.com to obtain the Zoom link.
