The Gloucester-Mathews Farm Bureau Board of Directors recently awarded three scholarships to local students. Presentations were made before the membership at the Annual Producer Dinner Meeting on Aug. 6 at Petsworth Baptist Church. Recipients were: —Leslie Jenkins, a sophomore at Virginia Tech majoring in Civil Engineering ($1,000 scholarship); —Rayann Helbig, a 2026 graduate of Mathews High School who will be attending Rappahannock Community College studying nursing ($1,000 scholarship), and —Katherine Blake, a 2026 graduate of Gloucester High School will attend Regent University studying Early and Primary Childhood Education received the Larry N. Oliver Memorial Scholarship for her submission of an essay titled “Planting Seeds of Faith” ($1,500 scholarship).
