Gloucester man convicted on federal child porn charge

A Gloucester man pleaded guilty Feb. 1 to a federal charge of distribution of child pornography.

Timothy Justin George, 27, was indicted by a federal grand jury on Dec. 14 and pleaded guilty last week as part of a plea agreement, according to a release from  U.S. Attorney Dana J. Boente of the Eastern District of Virginia.

According to the statement of facts filed with the plea agreement, law enforcement conducted a search of George’s home in September 2016 and seized a number of electronic devices. A forensic examiner analyzed the devices and found over 31,000 images of child pornography.

Sentencing for George is set for May, according to the release. He faces a minimum of five years in prison. ...
