Gloucester Library to hold summer programs for all ages

Beginning June 4, Gloucester Library will be hosting summer programming for people of all ages.

The library will have its Kick Off event for summer on June 4 from 4-6 p.m. in the side yard next to the Main Street Center location library. This free event is open to all ages. There will be music, food and games. Register for the event and receive a free bag, while supplies last.

Children, teens and adults can all participate in the library’s summer reading program, “Read Beyond the Beaten Path.” Summer reading sign-ups begin June 4 and the program lasts through the month of July. Participants will receive a bingo activity sheet and win prizes as they complete activities.

“It encourages reading and activities out in the community,” said Sara Robbins, Children’s Coordinator.

The library’s Point Branch will hold classes on learning how to play bridge on Fridays May 27, June 3, 10 and 17 at 10:30 a.m. Registration for these free, adult-only classes is now open.
