Gloucester County Public Library has announced its teen photography contest open for students in ninth through 12th grades. Teens are asked to submit their most creative photo using forced perspective, manipulating distances to make objects seem much larger or smaller than they actually are (for example: holding the sun in your hand). The deadline for entrants to submit their photos is May 1. Submissions can be emailed to library.questions@gloucesterva.info. Entrants are asked to include their full name, grade level, phone number and title of their photo in the email. An awards ceremony will be held at the library’s Main Street Center location on May 16 at 1 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the three best photos. The grand prize is $250.
