The Gloucester High School boys’ and girls’ track teams hosted the second Peninsula District meet last Wednesday, April 23, at Dukes Stadium.
Top finishers
Xavier Johnson placed first in the varsity boys’ triple jump with a mark of 41-3.
Gloucester finished first overall in the varsity boys’ 4×100 meter relay with a time of 44.45.
Charlotte Kirby placed first in the varsity girls’ pole vault event with a mark of 7-0.
Maliq Jackson finished second overall in the varsity boys’ 110-meter hurdles with a time of 16.63, followed by Brad Bellinger in fourth (17.50). Mohamed Erraji placed second in the varsity boys’ discus event with a mark of 120-10. Also competing for Gloucester in this event were Austin Halterman (110-8), Trevor Burke (104-3) and Ethan Stotts (72-1).
Kayla Turner finished second overall in the varsity girls’ 800-meter run with a time of 2:43, followed by Josephine Williams in third place (2:45). Also competing in the event for Gloucester were Chloe Sylvester (2:57), Skylar Klaiss (3:07), Piper Dumas (3:17) and Camille Reyes (3:21).
In the varsity girls’ 3,200-meter run, Avalynn Hutton finished in second with a time of 12:53, followed by Rachel Blittle in third (13:26).
Hannah Mullis finished second overall in the varsity girls’ shot put event with a mark of 34.675. Also competing in the event were Lady Dukes Alyssa Wilson (22-4.75), Brianna Peet (22-3) and Jazmine Foster (20-1).
Hugh Davis finished third overall in the varsity boys’ 1,600-meter run with a time of 4:56. Logan McAllister and Lincoln Alcorn also competed, finishing with times of 5:45 and 6:10, respectively.
Gloucester finished the varsity boys’ 4×800-meter relay in third with a time of 9:39.
Zarheia Couvington fin-ished third overall in the girls’ 100-meter dash with a time of 14.02.
