Gloucester hires new emergency coordinator

Paul Long, deputy emergency management coordinator for York County, was recently hired as Gloucester’s emergency management coordinator.

Long, who has held the position in York since 2008, is a Certified Emergency Manager, holds the Virginia Professional Emergency Manager designation, and has a master’s degree in public administration, according to county spokesperson Christi Lewis. She said Long has also had substantial training in emergency management, as well as experience in the fire and life safety aspects of emergency response and management.
