Gloucester farmers may apply for emergency loans

Gloucester is among 59 Virginia localities recently declared eligible for emergency loans from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency. The loans are available in Gloucester’s case for frost and freeze damage from the past winter. The Farm Service Agency said it is extending emergency credit for replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganizing operations, or refinancing certain debts.
