Gloucester deputies join in the fun at PRT soccer camp

 

The Gloucester Parks, Recreation, and Tourism Soccer Camp culminated in a series of exhibition matches last Thursday evening.

Three teams of camp participants matched up against three teams of deputies from the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Office. These matches represented the conclusion of a camp that began on Aug. 1 under the leadership of Chris Clifford and Bob Satchell.

Clifford and Satchell have been playing or coaching soccer since the late 1970s and both have their “D” certifications, the highest certification for coaches at their level. Clifford and Satchell, as well as their entire coaching staff, have been trained by “A” certified coaches. Former William and Mary coaches Al Albert and Chris Norris, as well as a former teammate of international football great Pelé, had served as instructors during both Clifford’s and Satchell’s certifications.
