Gloucester Daffodil Show tradition revived

The Daffodil Show, while a new feature of the Daffodil Festival, is a continuation of a 62-year-old Gloucester tradition formerly sponsored by the Garden Club of Gloucester.

The show will be held in the Botetourt Elementary School gymnasium from 2 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, and from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday, April 3. People are encouraged to enter blooms, groups of blooms, artistic arrangements or photographs on Friday April 1 from 4:30 to 9 p.m. or Saturday April 2 from 7 to 10 a.m., a release said.

The show is sponsored by a committee of county residents and daffodil enthusiasts, along with the Gloucester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Tourism, who have planned an American Daffodil Society-sanctioned show. Help will be available to identify blooms or an exhibitor may enter the “My Beautiful Daffodils” non-ADS division.
