Gloucester Daffodil Festival attracts 20,000+

Last weekend’s crowd at the 28th annual Gloucester Daffodil Festival was “exceptional,” according to spokesperson Katey Legg.

She said the turnout at this year’s festival surpassed last year’s crowd of 17,000 people. “We estimate over 20,000 people attended this weekend,” Legg said. “The weather was extremely cooperative, which we are thankful for.”

As with any large event, there were a few minor glitches. Legg said the shuttle buses carrying people from the Gloucester High School parking lot to the festival on Saturday experienced some problems with communication of pickup and drop-off locations. 

“Unfortunately, this meant we had some unhappy guests,” she said. “We tried to correct the issue as quickly as possible, and as the day progressed, the issue disappeared.”
