Gloucester Daffodil Club members win awards

Several members of the Gloucester Daffodil Club won awards recently for the flowers they entered in various shows.

Club members brought home 71 of 164 blue ribbons awarded in horticulture at the Virginia Daffodil Society Show in Richmond in March. Dianne Spence received the gold ribbon for Best in Show, a mini gold ribbon for Best Miniature in Show, and a lavender ribbon for Best Collection of 5 Stems Miniatures.

Also bringing home awards were Carla and William Stanley, Best Intermediate Ribbon; Kathy Gierlak, Historic Daffodil Collection of Five Ribbon; and Nancy Fuchs, Marie Bozievich Ribbon.

Carla and William Stanley and Dianne Spence tied for the LGBG Silver Tray Award/Most Blue Ribbons in Show.

Other winners were Peggy Bowditch, Debbie Rollins, Rick Stanley, and Bill Thomas in Horticulture and Anne Earman in Photography.
