This year’s weather has created challenges for daffodil growers, but Gloucester Daffodil Club members did not let it stop their mission to grow and show daffodils. Members not only entered their blooms in the Gloucester Daffodil Show, but they also brought home awards from Garden Club of Virginia’s Daffodil Days, the Washington Daffodil Society Show and the Virginia Daffodil Society Show, to just name a few. The grand finale for this year’s growing season was the American Daffodil Society National Convention and Show held at the Chicago Botanic Garden in Chicago, Illinois, from April 22-25. Club members enjoyed private tours of the gardens and heard world-renowned speakers, including Michiel de Waard of Egmond aan den Hoef, Netherlands.
