Gloucester County upgrades website

Visitors to Gloucester County’s website, www.gloucesterva.info, will see some changes to how some of its content is displayed. Smartphone and tablet users will also be able to view content on the site from their devices more easily.

Upgrades to the site performed by Gloucester’s Department of Information Technology include a responsive design, which means its webpages can detect the size of the device’s screen and adjust content for optimal display. “For tablet and smartphone devices, the new responsive design should eliminate the need to scroll left or right as the content is moved to a single column and adjusts to the width of the display area,” said applications project manager Brian Burchett.

The site was also upgraded to the latest version of HTML and CSS. Burchett recommends that users upgrade their web browsers to the latest version or that they install another browser brand if using an old unsupported operating system on their computers.
