The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors approved two separate resolutions during its Tuesday night work session in the colonial courthouse that will provide one-time bonuses to all county and Gloucester County Public Schools employees. For Gloucester, the state is providing $163,097 for county employee bonuses and just over half million for school employee retention bonuses in the current fiscal year budget, FY26. Localities are required to provide a portion of the funds in order to receive the state funding. According to Deputy County Administrator and Chief Financial Officer Maria Calloway, the county is able to provide the local match from its vacancy savings. This would not require additional appropriations. Gloucester would need to provide $368,511 to fund 2 percent bonuses across the board for county staff.
