Gloucester County hires new Director of Information Technology

Eric Beach began his new position this week as Gloucester County’s new Director of Information Technology, Acting County Administrator Carol Steele announced Tuesday.

Beach has more than 25 years’ experience in the IT field in both the public and private sectors. He most recently served as IT project manager for the City of Newport News, overseeing all areas of Enterprise Resource Planning, Cybersecurity, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and Public Safety Telecommunications.

In that role, he also oversaw all project managers and their staff members. Prior to working for Newport News, he worked in the private sector serving in similar roles.
