Gloucester conducts online planning survey

Gloucester is conducting an online survey through Nov. 6 to receive public opinion prior to completion of the county’s revised comprehensive plan.

The current survey is intended to determine any changes in public opinion since similar surveys about the plan were conducted in 2006 and 2010, planner Sean McNash said. The previous surveys were used to help guide the development of the revised plan which is anticipated to be a county guide for the next two decades.

Gloucester residents are encouraged to complete the survey, McNash said, and opinions from those who don’t live in Gloucester but who work or shop here are also welcome.

The last comp plan was completed in 1991, McNash said, and there have been several sub-area plans (Gloucester Court House and Hayes/Gloucester Point) added through the years.

McNash said the Gloucester Planning Commission will review the comp plan at its Nov. 5 meeting in the colonial courthouse and schedule a public hearing on the plan for Dec. ...
