The Gloucester Community Foundation recently awarded a total of $87,400 in grants to local nonprofits and organizations through its 2021 Community Impact Grants Program.
GCF seeks to improve quality of life for all in Gloucester County by promoting charitable giving and connecting donors with causes about which they care.
Grants were awarded in four areas. Organizations under the Health and Wellness category that received awards were the Avalon Center, Bread for Life Community Food Pantry, the Community Strides program, Fear 2 Freedom, Gloucester Mathews Care Clinic, the GUEST Program, Helping the Homeless, and Sink or Swim.
Grants in the Cultural Vibrancy category were awarded to the Bay School Community Arts Center, the Rappahannock Concert Association and the Fairfield Foundation.
Awards for Economic Prosperity were given to the Gloucester Housing Partnership, Latisha’s House Foundation, the Samaritan Group, The Salvation Army and VersAbility Resources.
Grants supporting Educational Success were awarded to the Boys and Girls Club, Gloucester Arts on Main, the Gloucester County Public Schools Educational Foundation, the Literacy Volunteers, and the Rappahannock Community College Educational Foundation.
“It is a privilege of the community foundation to provide the tools and local knowledge so our community can give with confidence, especially during a time of such great need,” said Warren Deal, GCF Advisory Board Chair. “We are proud of the ways in which we can serve today while also being prepared and positioned to serve our community’s foundation for giving for generations to come.”
