Michael Brewer of Gloucester, a senior at Pfeiffer University in North Carolina, was selected as the NCAA Division II Conference Carolinas Men’s Volleyball Player of the Week for the eighth week of the 2014-2015 season.

Brewer posted a .857 hitting percentage and made just one error in Pfeiffer’s 3-0 win over Lees-McRae on Feb. 24. He finished the evening with 13 kills, two aces, five digs and three blocks as he led the Falcons to their eighth consecutive victory. Coming into this week, the Falcons were 9-2 overall and 8-1 in conference matches.

A graduate of Gloucester High School, where he was also a volleyball standout, Brewer is an accounting major at Pfeiffer. He is the son of Mike and Laura Brewer of Gloucester. ...
