Gloucester chimney sweep adds woodstove dealership

Olde Town Stove & Hearth opened for business in early September on Route 17, Glenns.

Wayne Van Houdt, who owns the business with his son Ryan Van Houdt, said the building has more than 3,000 square feet, of which about 2,000 square feet is used for the showroom and the rear provides space for parts and repair. It previously housed an antiques shop and a motorcycle business,

Van Houdt sells woodstoves and hearths, with his premier lines being Regency and Hampton. He provides installation and repair of units he sells, plus services some other units.

 

Inserts fueled variously by pellets, wood or gas are very popular, Van Houdt said. He plans to add a line of hearth and stove accessories soon. The company also offers dryer vent cleaning.

Van Houdt also owns Olde Town Chimney Sweeps, a Gloucester-based business he has operated for almost 30 years.
