Gloucester C.H.-area bus route could begin in July

Bay Transit may start a fixed transit route in the Gloucester Court House and nearby areas as soon as July, transit director Ken Pollock said.

During a meeting on May 28 at Main Street Center, Pollock said that Bay Transit has been granted additional funding from the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation for expanding transportation services within this region. A total of $115,000 will help Bay Transit run a fixed route in and near the Gloucester village as well as a fixed run on the Northern Neck to serve Warsaw, Montross and Callao.

The final Gloucester route has not been determined, but Pollock said some potential stops might be in the Shops at Gloucester Center near Dollar Tree, Walmart at Fox Mill Center, Daffodil Gardens or the nearby Walter Reed Plaza, Riverside Walter Reed Hospital and Main Street Center.
