Gloucester businesses being surveyed on recycling practices

Gloucester businesses were sent a survey about their recycling practices recently and are encouraged to return the surveys to Clean Community Coordinator René Moring by March 15.

Moring said that the state requires Gloucester County to submit documented recycling and waste disposal information to determine whether mandated recycling rates and targeted requirements have been met. The Code of Virginia requires Gloucester to maintain a minimum 25 percent recycling rate, she said.

“As part of our reporting, we are able to include all recycling data from the residential, commercial, and institutional sectors, and collecting recycling data from your operation will help Gloucester County reach its recycling goal,” Moring said.
