Village Landscapes, LLC, provides expert landscape and hardscape services year-round throughout Gloucester, Mathews and West Point. The Gloucester-based business was opened three years ago by husband-and-wife Michael and Laura Trantham. The two have kept their business local to impact the community they grew up in.
For landscaping, the business offers year-round services that include lawn care, shrub and tree trimming, flowerbed installation and plant and tree installation. Village Landscapes also offers natural debris removal. They do not provide insurance claims for damage caused by debris.
Laura said the year-round maintenance program is more than just cutting someone’s lawn. The program offers their clients a 12-month plan to keep their property healthy and maintained at a flat rate. Each property is unique so the price does vary between clients.
For hardscaping, Village Landscapes’ services include pathway and walkway construction, patio installation, fire pits and flowerbed edging. Laura said they do custom installs to meet the needs and desires of their clients.
Laura said their clients can be assured that all work being done is by trained professionals. They require their employees to become educated in their work by becoming certified. She said it makes sure the service is consistent regardless of which crew member completes it.
The Tranthams started Village Landscapes as a way to service the community they grew up in. Laura said they have three kids that are now growing up in Gloucester and they want to impact the county in positive way for them and the rest of the community. Laura said that landscaping is a lot of people work.
She said they’ve met members of the community through their services and form connections with them. Through these connections Village Landscapes has found situations they’ve been able to impact. For example, she said they’ve donated services for those without the ability to take care of their property. She said they’ve also worked with the Montessori School to maintain their nature trail.
