Gloucester board to hold first meeting of 2015 on Tuesday

The Gloucester County Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing during its meeting Tuesday night in the colonial courthouse to discuss some potential amendments to its procedural rules. The regular meeting will begin at 7 o’clock and the public hearing starts at 8. Also during the meeting, the board will elect its new chairman and vice chairman who will serve throughout 2015.

The board generally approves its rules of procedure, standards of conduct and code of ethics at its first meeting of the year. This year, several board members requested a public hearing on the matter, as several amendments to the rules of procedure will deal with citizen participation in meetings.

One of the proposed amendments states that those who attend board meetings or wish to speak to the board during public comment, shall do so in an orderly manner.
