Gloucester board makes personnel appointments

The Gloucester School Board made several personnel appointments during its Nov. 9 meeting at the T.C. Walker Education Center.

Appointed to a teaching position for the 2021-2022 school year was Whitney Oberndorg of Feeding Hills, Massachusetts. Oberndorf will be a computer resource teacher at Achilles and Petsworth elementary schools beginning Jan. 3, 2022.

Appointed to support service positions for the current school year were Shannon Parlett and Daniel Van Buskirk of Mathews, Shannon Carter of Saluda, Stacey Leote of Newport News, and Gregory Steward and Veronica Antis of Hayes.The board also accepted resignations from Peasley Middle School Principal Craig Reed, effective Dec. 3, and support services personnel Dawn Adams, John Dixon and Samantha Nichols. In addition, Jon Lindberg resigned as the junior varsity boys’ soccer coach at Gloucester High School, effective Oct. 28.
