Gloucester board approves personnel changes

The Gloucester County School Board made personnel changes and appointments during its June 23 special meeting for a retreat in Williamsburg.

Among the changes, Botetourt Elementary School assistant principal Deborah Wheeler was transferred to assistant principal at Abingdon Elementary and Achilles Elementary School assistant principal Shannon Auche was transferred to assistant principal at Bethel Elementary.

Also, Peasley Middle School special education teacher Raymond Dutton was promoted to assistant principal at Achilles and Petsworth Elementary, part-time at each location.

In addition, Amanda Sawyer of Gloucester was appointed as a grade six teacher at Peasley, Karen Scalf of Concord, N.C., was appointed as a music teacher at Botetourt and Kimberly Robins of Gloucester, was appointed as a part-time art teacher at Petsworth, all effective for the 2011-2012 school year.

Also, the board accepted the resignation of Botetourt second grade teacher Amy E. Daniel.
