Gloucester Arts Festival

Baltimore-based artist Palden Hamilton, at left, took Best in Show in the 2019 Heart of the River Collection show, part of this year’s Gloucester Arts Festival, for his painting “Toward Gloucester.” Second place went to John Brandon Sills for “Quiet Sunset”; Daniel Robbins took third place for “Light on the Water”; Andre Lucero won for Best Sunrise/Sunset for “Promise”; Doug Clarke received the Best Virginia Artist prize for “Quiet Morning”; Neal Hughes took Best Nocturne for “Hot Rod Nocturne”; Maria Reardon won Best Water View for “Calm before the Storm”; Joseph Gyurcsak won Best Landscape/Agriculture for “Farm Livin’, ” while William C.
