Gloucester Arts Festival wraps up with free concert Sunday

The 2019 Gloucester Arts Festival will go out the way it came in, with a free outdoor concert on Sunday afternoon on the lawn of Walter Reed Way between Riverside Walter Reed Hospital and Gloucester Court House.

The monthlong celebration began June 1 with the 13th annual Symphony Under the Stars, featuring the Virginia Symphony. This time around, the Gloucester Arts Festival and the Cook Foundation will welcome the U.S. Fleet Forces Band, starting at 4 p.m.

Known as the “finest of the fleet,” the U.S. Fleet Forces Band is the musical representative for Commander, U.S. Fleet Forces Command in Norfolk. The band provides musical support for ships, military bases, foreign dignitaries, and community events throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Ohio River Valley areas of the United States, and also regularly deploys to Central and South America.
