The Gloucester Arts Festival returns this week, bringing a full month of creativity, community, and celebration to Gloucester. Residents and visitors alike are invited to experience the energy and charm of Gloucester, especially the heart of it all: Main Street.
The festival opens on Friday, June 6 with Brews, Brine & Wine, an evening filled with oysters, craft beer, wine, and—new this year—whiskey. Guests can enjoy live music and watch festival artists create new works in real time from 5-8:30 p.m. on the lawn at Timberneck House, 3601 Timberneck Farm Road, Hayes. Tickets will be $35 at the door.
On Saturday, Main Street becomes the center of the action. The day begins with Paint Main, a fast-paced plein air competition where both festival artists and community members capture scenes from downtown Gloucester. Watch the action from 10 a.m. to noon, and hang around as late as 2 p.m. to see who wins the competition and to have a chance to purchase the pieces created.
