The Gloucester County Art Student Show, sponsored by the Phoenix Art Group, opens this Sunday during normal hours at the Gloucester County Public Library. It will be on display through March 14.
Open to art students in public, private and home-schooled systems, the show offers a “People’s Choice Award” to the young artist who receives the most votes from the public attending the show. The prize includes a check for $25, a ribbon and a certificate.
The “Most Promising Young Artist” award will be given by local artist Renate Bumgarner. The winner will receive a ribbon and a certificate.
A reception will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 15, in the community room at the library. The winners of the awards will be announced and light refreshments will be served.
From the art presented in this show, the Phoenix Art Group will select art to illustrate its 2021 calendar. These limited edition calendars are sold to raise money for scholarship support for a qualified senior from Gloucester County who wishes to continue art studies at the college level.
The 2020 calendar is still available and can be purchased at the Gloucester Montessori School and the Corner Cottage Frame Shop.
