The Gloucester County School Board appointed Debra Wood of Hayes as school nurse at Bethel Elementary during personnel actions taken during its May 14 meeting. The appointment was effective May 13.
In appointments for the 2019-2020 school year, Jan-Marie Bard was appointed as a special education teacher at Gloucester High School, Morgan Sears was appointed to teach at Abingdon Elementary and Lisa Bailey was appointed to teach at Petsworth Elementary. All three teachers reside in Gloucester.
Also, Erin Moore of Yorktown was appointed as a speech language pathologist to work two days a week for the 2019-2020 school year.
In re-assignments, Bryan Hartley, the school division’s director of student services, was appointed as the executive director of operations, effective July 1.
The board approved retirement for John Hutchinson, the assistant superintendent for administrative services, and Page Middle School special education teacher Renae Fore, both effective July 1. Retirement was also approved for Abingdon Elementary math interventionist Sandra Whitlow, effective May 1.
Resignations were accepted from support services employee Samantha Spencer, effective May 6; Peasley Middle School ISS coordinator Melissa Hansen, effective May 17; and GHS Spanish teacher Kayla White, effective June 10.
