Gloucester announces department leadership changes

Gloucester County Administrator Carol Steele recently announced changes to leadership positions within the government organization.

Katey Legg, former director of the county’s Parks, Recreation and Tourism division, was named Director of Public Utilities. Meanwhile, Matthew Barber, the county’s former Recreation and Tourism Manager, was named Director of PR&T.

The changes come after the retirement of the utilities director. “We really needed someone in that position who was stellar in project management, formulating budgets, and supervising personnel,” Steele said. “Katey has proven her abilities in those key areas time and time again during her tenure as PR&T Director, so I knew we could leverage those abilities where they were really needed in Public Utilities.”

Legg started her career with Gloucester County in 2005 as a Recreation Supervisor and was later promoted to Recreation Superintendent before she was named PR&T Director in 2018.
