Gloucester All-Stars win district tournament

The 2015 Gloucester Youth Baseball All-Stars defeated Denbigh 14-4 in the championship game of the Babe Ruth District 1 Tournament for 13-15 year olds in Newport News on July 1.

Grayson Womble got the win on the mound for Gloucester and contributed three hits, three RBIs and scored three runs. Hunter Green and Tyler Hancock each had two hits, two RBIs and scored two runs in the game.

Also, Reese Oden had two hits and scored two runs, Aidan Carter had two hits and scored three runs, Cody Buffington contributed a hit, an RBI and scored a run and Thomas Horsley had a hit and two RBIs. Oden additionally contributed two home runs to the Gloucester tournament effort.

With the victory, the Gloucester All-Stars move on to the Babe Ruth 13-15 year-olds State Tournament scheduled to begin next Thursday, July 16 in South Hill. ...
