Gloucester 4-Hers compete in horse contests

Members of the GLOCO Horse and Saddle Smarts 4-H clubs in Gloucester competed in the annual Block and Bridle event at Virginia Tech on Feb. 18 and 19 and at the Red Baron Riders Hippology in Virginia Beach last Saturday.

In the hippology contests at Virginia Tech, GLOCO junior member Anna Henderson Cox was eighth in tests and slides, her team was sixth and the juniors were ninth overall. Senior member Megan Wilson-Bost was ninth in tests and slides. In the horse judging contests at Tech, Henderson Cox was fifth in halter, second in oral reasons and eighth overall. Her team was sixth in halter, second in oral reasons and 10th overall. The GLOCO seniors were sixth in halter, seventh in performance and fifth in oral reasons.
The Saddle Smart juniors were fourth overall in the hippology contests at Tech after taking fourth in tests and slides and third in stations and judging. Individually, Emily Johnston was fifth and Rebecca Jenkins was 10th in tests and slides. Emily Johnston was ...
