The 15U Gloucester All-Star baseball team finished its 2016 season on Monday evening, falling to Nottoway in the championship game of the Virginia Babe Ruth League Tournament.

Gloucester had been unbeaten heading into Monday night’s game, and had even defeated Nottoway in the second round of the double-elimination tournament which began last Thursday and was hosted by Denbigh Youth Baseball.

However, wasn’t in the cards for the Gloucester boys on Monday night, as they suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat in the first game and were shut out in the nightcap, 8-0.

Gloucester finished the tournament with a 4-2 record, defeating Falls Church-Annandale (15-4), Nottoway (8-2), Shenandoah Valley (4-3) and Northern Fairfax County (2-1). ...
