Glimpses into the Past: Five acres available for parsonage

We have been authorized to offer for sale to the one parsonage location for East Mathews Circuit, a piece of land containing five acres, situated near Bethel Church, and bounded on the west by main county road and opposite Mr. Andrew J. Diggs. And we are under the opinion this would be a desirable place for a parsonage and will sell to the committee on reasonable terms. Laban Hudgins, Andrew J. Diggs and Robert Campbell, trustees.

Gwynn: The Steamer Piankatank that ran aground last Tuesday at Milford Haven got off last Saturday night during the storm of wind and high tide. The fishermen had the misfortune to lose a large number of stakes last Saturday night during the storm. Quite a large number were blown ashore.
