Gleaning Baptist Church near Harcum has been helping the hungry in the community for four years now. Last Thursday, the Peninsula Food Bank delivered an extra batch of food to the church, and employees from Skillsoft, a company that provides leadership training, donated their time while they were in town for business to help distribute the food.

Gleaning pastor Stevens Burrell said the church’s Good Samaritan Ministry, which helps all of those in the community who are in need, has partnered with other non-profit organizations and businesses over the years to make the mission of the ministry possible. The ministry does not just provide food, but clothing, furniture, household goods and appliances to its neighbors in need.
